What Is DiDA?
DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications) is an optional IT course for secondary school pupils; however it requires a good level of skill and if unfamiliar with programs such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash or any Office applications then it can be difficult. The aim of this site is to help you with these key skills and hopefully to your success in the course.
This site will go through up through the basics of these applications and then into the more complex techniques you can use to achieve top marks.
How To Start?
Usually the best place to start is the DiDA website (http://dida.edexcel.org.uk/home/), this is where you can find possibly the two most helpful things in your course; the summative project briefs (SPB) & Getting The Standards Rights (other ePortfolios and the marks awarded to them). Sticking to what the SPB says can help you!
File Formats?
In DiDA only certain file formats (eg: .jpg .gif .pdf) will be accepted; this usually excludes most forms of Office extensions such as .doc .docx. For a full list of these accepted extensions visit http://dida.edexcel.org.uk/home/spb/toolkit/
Note: File Formats that are not in this list may be ignored and you will loose marks!
Setting Up A File Structure
How to set up a file structure for your ePortfolio. If you do not have the
correct file structure when you move your ePortfolio most likely it will break
all the links of your site and/or it will be hard for a moderator to find what
they are looking for.
